Brain Freeze

I just wanted to share a couple scrapbooking pages I completed recently. I have a difficult time coming up with layouts, but I like the way these turned out.

Kyla cracks me up. She was about 14 months in these pictures. The popsicle was too heavy for her to hold upright so she had to hold it upside down. I laughed so hard watching her try to eat it…

Photoshop Elements 9 Fun

Kyla’s sleeping, Brad’s sleeping, Aaron and Kaden are playing outside… so I’ve been playing around on Photoshop. I’ve only had it for a year, it’s about time I figure out how to really use it.

I’ve been playing around with the different filters. There are so many and I love what they can do. Each one totally changes the feel of a photo. There are a couple that I absolutely love and will definitely be using again. Check ‘em out:

The original picture:

Stylized with Glowing Edges:

I’m so loving this program, even though I don’t get to spend as much time using it as I’d like. I was really going to do a some scrapbook pages, but got sidetracked (a common occurrence!). Do you have any favorite filters?

Affinity

Let Me Scrapbook is the featured designer at theStudio right now. She has a free add-on to her newest kit Affinity, along with a challenge to complete a layout using only the add-on. Then they’ll randomly select one person and that person wins her full kit. I decided to join in on this. It’s the first challenge I’ve ever participated in. I still feel like a beginner so I don’t post my layouts very often. But I love the colors of this kit and decided to try my luck. This is what I came up with:

Now I just have to wait for my registration with theStudio to go through so I can post it. What do you think?

Here is a link to Maurine’s website. I love her designs!

And here’s a direct link to the post about the Affinity add-on if you’re interested…

I’ve had a lot of chaos in my life lately, but now that things are starting to calm down I think I’ll actually be able to get the ball rolling with this site. Look out world! Here I come!

Scrapbooking pages

I’m pretty new to the whole digital scrapbooking scene. I still love regular scrapbooking. I love the handmade look that they have. But digital scrapbooking has too many benefits. No mess. You can walk away and come back to it no problem (and stress about kids messing up your layout). With quick pages out there, lack of time is no longer a problem. Plus I save loads of money… once you buy a paper you can reuse it as many times as you want! There are so many great designers out there. So, without further ado here a the first few pages I made using Photoshop Elements 9.

Aquarium 1 final_edited-1

This page and the following page were made using Stuff to Scrap blog train freebies! I love this kit: March of the Animals. The designers from Stuff to Scrap (and anyone else who wants to join in) design their own elements/papers/etc. and you go around to everyone’s site to pick up their freebies.

I used fonts for peas Wish I Were Taller font. I love it! They have a ton of super cute fonts for FREE. Visit them here.

Cheese Monster copy

This page I used “Monsters All Around” kit from B2N2 Scraps. When I saw it I had to buy it for these pictures. Aaron found a block of cheese on the counter (I was grating cheese for dinner but had to take care of Kyla so I left it). He didn’t have any problems digging in…

You can probably tell I’m pretty new to the whole page design thing. But I enjoy and love to learn new things and I have so many kits I can’t wait to play around with! I’m sure I’ll be posting more pages as I get them done.
